2011 Ohio Sports Legend: William E. White
The Ohio Sports Legends Event is celebrating its 12th year of honoring middle school, high school and college student athletes and coaches. This year’s 2011 Ohio Sports Legend is William E. White.
Athletic Achievements:
1984 – 1987 Starting Corner Back, Ohio State University men’s football team
1987 Team Captain, Ohio State University men’s football team
1986 & 1987 Received Academic All Big Ten and Best Student Athlete/
Arnie Chonko Award
1987 Cotton Bowl Scholar Athlete
1988 - 1999 Drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1988, played professionally for
11 years in the NFL and ended football career after being the Starting Safety for the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl XXXIII.
